Trump Is Trying to Kill the Program That Saved My Life

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/02/opinion/trump-refugee-program.html
The origin of this source is an article from the New York Times by Marius Kothor, who is a Yale graduate student currently working on his Ph.D in History. The purpose of this article is to give information about his experience as a refugee, and how the Refugee Resettlement Program helped him to obtain the life that he has, and how it would change other lives too. He also express how upset he is about the Program being reducing the number of people who could apply for a refugee resettlement.
Kothor outline the article by explaining what the Refugee Resettlement Program is, and how it allows people who are escaping from war, persecution and famine to legally move to the United States. He also explains how the program reduced the number of refugees to 18,000 for the following 12 months for security reasons. He also states that coming to the United States as a refugee is the most difficult way, because they go through a vetting process, and then starts to compare it with his process. The article seems as valuable source to learn about refugees, since Kothor did not only have facts about the Program, but also shared his experience as a Refugee from Togo since he was 9 years old.
Even though I agree with him about how the program can really change people’s lives and I got to understand his point of view; one of the limitations that I found was that he only shares his point of view and his experience which give some limited information, the article lacked more testimonies from refugees that would have helped to understand deeper the process of becoming a refugee in the United States.
